博士考试一般考四门，就是外国语、政治理论和两门专业课。
具体的考试科目一般由招生院校决定，有些学校可能不考政治理论，专业课是大部分学校必考的科目。考博士一般需要分为初试和复试，初试以笔试为主，复试会笔试也有综合面试。
本校研究生攻读博士：有好几种途径：本科直博、硕博连读、普通招考，基本各类方式都可以。
外校研究生报考985高校非定向博士：一般是通过普通招考途径，具体有3种，即导师团计划、申请审核制及申请考核制。
免初试（网上报名、提交材料审核）+复试（面试/综合考核）大多由博导或课题组老师组成队一起去部分高校宣讲招收博士，通过材料审核与面试决定录取结果，无外国语考核；不是所有专业都通过导师团计划招收博士，只有少数专业采用这种方式，且招收人数较少；
导师团一般只去双一流高校或研究院/所等，报考和招收学生大部分为985、211等双一流高校和部分研究院/所，对双非研究生，这种方式一般受限，因此，双非研究生考博的首选是申请审核制。
免初试（网上报名、提交材料审核）+复试（面试/综合考核）公平的考博途径，是双非研究生的福音，申请审核制是一种不需参加统考、仅需“申请+审核”的考博方式，比统考方式简单一些。
申请审核制正在国内985高校逐步代替全国统考制，像天津大学，已取消统考制，全部采用申请考核中，都仍有部分985高校保留统考制的部分博士名额，如山东大学；211高校或部分研究院/所招收博士也开始试行申请审核制。但仍有部分高校仍保留统考制，如华电、电科院等
免初试（网上报名、提交材料审核）+复试（笔试+面试/综合考核）比申请审核制多了一个笔试环节。
初试（英语+专业课1+专业课2）+复试（面试）包含笔试和复试两个环节。笔试一般考3门“专业课、数学和英语”。
全国统考制考博和考研的过程差不多，必须先过笔试初试，而且最好的高分，才能增加录取概率，然后才有机会进入复试，复试一般包含英语口语、专业复试和资料审查等环节。
其中的英语口语包含“自我介绍、家乡情况等、研究生课题、毕业论文、读博打算/计划等”。资料审查环节联系导师很重要。
注：统考制考博也需要提前联系博导，不然过了笔试，在复试的资料审查环节没办法保证高分，仍有被刷掉的风险，如何联系博导，请看申请审核制文章（含考博自荐信/申请信）。
这些都是特定高校之间的联合培养和定向支持，相应国家号召，培养人才，想报考的同学可以查看研究生招生网发布的对应招生说明。
